Cattle Heat Load Toolbox

Katestone Environmental Engineering

The Cattle Heat Load Toolbox, was a concept to link weather forecasts to regional cattle feedlots for the purposes of alerting owners of dangerous conditions for the cattle. The app included the functionality to store the data locally on the phone and then sync the data when the “riders” who observed the condition of the cattle on a daily basis, were back at the office and had wi-fi connection.

There was behind the scenes a weather model is combined with the observation data, cattle type, pen status/condition and history to produce an alert level for the cattle population.
